Rivalry history: Georgia vs. Auburn

This Saturday, No. 2 Georgia (5-0, 2-0) hosts Auburn (3-2, 1-1) in the 127th edition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

The game is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in Athens, Georgia and will be broadcasted on CBS.

Georgia leads the series 62-56-8, but lately it hasn’t felt like much of a rivalry.

UGA has won 14 of the last 17 games against the Tigers and 8 of the last 10.

Georgia is heavily favored entering the October 8th game against Auburn, listed as a 29.5 point favorite at BetMGM.

The Bulldogs have the No. 2 team in the country and are 5-0. Auburn sits at 3-2 and has a solid defense,

but head coach Bryan Harsin is already on the hot seat.

2021: Georgia 34, Auburn 10 Stetson Bennett connected with Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey several times in Georgia’s road win at Auburn last season. 

After a quiet first quarter, running back Zamir White helped the Bulldogs build up a 17-3 halftime lead.

Georgia’s defense was dominant in 2021 and sacked Auburn quarterback Bo Nix four times.

The Tigers managed just 46 rushing yards on 29 carries.

 Georgia and Auburn has tied eight times with the last of those being in 1994.

However, Georgia has never tied Auburn at home. All eight of Georgia’s ties to the Tigers have been on the road or at neutral sites.
