Pete Thamel of ESPN reported Friday that Drew Pyne plans to enter the transfer portal.
Pyne, who will have three years of eligibility remaining, confirmed the news on his Twitter account.
He can officially enter his name into the portal and receive contact from other schools starting Monday.
"One of my proudest honors is to have been a student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame," Pyne wrote.
"I have been blessed to be among great coaches and teachers and play with teammates I consider brothers.

Pyne took over for injured starter Tyler Buchner late during Notre Dame's loss to Marshall in Week Two.
