Craig Haubert and Tom Luginbill, selected a starting lineup of 2023 recruits (insider), minus specialists.
It was a very interesting exercise, as they didn’t just select the top 44 overall recruits,
they each had a strategy behind their selections which saw two Notre Dame verbal commitments selected.

Pick No. 21 Safety Peyton Bowen Haubert selected the future Irish safety as he noted that Bowen was one of the “fastest players in the country.”
Speed kills at any position and the fact that Haubert see’s him as a versatile player who can “play safety, he can play corner, he can be. corner, he can be the return guy.”
Pick No. 26 Offensive tackle Charles Jagusah The top lineman in Illinois is a massive road grader.
Luginbill selected him for reasons similar to why Haubert picked Bowen, versatility.
