The Dallas Cowboys have one of the largest fanbases in the NFL, but they also have plenty of detractors.
On Oct. 7, the franchise’s Twitter account posted a video with a message from defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence
to a young fan in Michigan who was bullied after wearing Cowboys gear to school. Lawrence told the fan, named Alexa Becker,
that the team had her back in the response.
The Cowboys doubled down on their support by sending Becker signed jerseys with a personalized
video that featured Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Leighton Vander Esch, Trevon Diggs and CeeDee Lamb.
“Heard about your story. When you’re a Cowboy fan, there’s always going to be haters,”
Prescott said. “Remember to stay strong, wear this gear that we’re getting you all over the place. Wear it proud and let them know, ‘Cowboys Nation.’”
A new video posted Friday showed Becker reacting to the shipment from her favorite team,
along with a short compilation where she’s shown wearing her new gear while being dropped off at school.
Dallas will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday at AT&T Stadium, looking to bounce back from a road loss against
the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Prescott could make his long-awaited return,
as he didn’t carry a game-status designation on the team’s Friday injury report.
